Phone cases: what €10, €30 and €80 actually buy
We scored all 639 phone cases in the live catalogue. Only 19.7 % sit under €10, and the share that supports MagSafe climbs from 9.5 % at the bottom to 40.7 % above €40.
Phone case prices are the most arbitrary numbers in any electronics catalogue: the plastic, the silicone and the moulding cost roughly the same, yet the shelf runs from €3.99 to €124.99. Instead of repeating a generic buying guide, we counted what each price band actually contains in our own stock. Every figure below comes from the live OnlineStore24 EU catalogue on 7 November 2026.
Quick summary
- 639 cases analysed, all in stock at the time of reading.
- 126 (19.7 %) cost under €10; the median in that band is €5.99.
- The €10–20 gap is almost empty: only 34 cases (5.3 %) and none of them support MagSafe.
- €20–30 is the real MagSafe entry point: 153 cases, 17 % with magnets.
- Above €40: 199 cases (31.1 %), median €53.99, 40.7 % with MagSafe.
- Cheapest in stock: €3.99. Most expensive: €124.99 — a 31× spread for the same job.
Under €10: silicone, gel and clear shells
One in five cases in the catalogue costs less than a coffee. The band is dominated by reinforced silicone and clear shells — for example the Samsung Clear Case for Galaxy A54 at €3.99, the Case Silicone Reinforced for Galaxy S26 5G at €4.99 and the Celly Gelskin at €4.99. What you get is a moulded shell with correct cut-outs and no magnets: only 9.5 % of the band mentions MagSafe.
That is not automatically a bad deal. If you charge with a cable and replace your phone every two years, a €4.99 shell absorbs the same drops as a €59 one. What it will not do is hold a magnetic wallet or snap onto a car mount.
The €10–20 gap: almost nothing lives there
This is the most revealing number in the dataset. Only 34 cases (5.3 %) sit between €10 and €20, mostly Samsung first-party clear cases at €10.99, and zero of them support MagSafe. The market skips the middle: from a €5.99 silicone shell you jump straight to €21.99 or €27.99.
Practical consequence: if your budget is €15, you are not buying a better case than the €5.99 one — you are buying the same category at a worse price. Either stay at the bottom or step up to the magnetic tier.
€20–30: where magnets start
This band concentrates 153 cases and the first serious MagSafe offering: 17 % of them include magnets. Examples in stock include the Apple Silicone Case with MagSafe for iPhone 14 Plus at €21.99, the Epico Silicone MagSafe at €23.99 and the Muvit Recycletek MagSafe at €27.99 — the median of the band is exactly €27.99.
Not all of the band is magnetic, though. Samsung's first-party silicone and card-slot cases for Galaxy A37, A55 and S25+ sit at €20.99–€22.99 without magnets. Paying €22 is not a guarantee of wireless charging — check the product title, not the price.
€30–40 and above: rugged shells and brand premium
The premium tiers are where the spread explodes. In €30–40 you find rugged, drop-tested designs such as the UAG Plyo MagSafe for iPhone 15 Pro at €30.99 and DBRAMANTE1928 folio wallets at €31.99. Above €40, Apple's own silicone and TechWoven cases with MagSafe run from €82.99 to €87.99, and the Beats rugged line reaches €124.99.
Compared with the €3.99 entry case, that is 31× the price. The difference buys certified drop ratings, magnetic alignment and brand — not €120 of raw material.

Checklist before you add a case to the cart
- Match the exact model code, not the family: "iPhone 17 Pro" and "iPhone 17 Pro Max" use different moulds.
- Decide about magnets first: cable charging → €4.99–€10 band; magnetic mount or wallet → €21.99 upward.
- Skip €15: with only 34 references in €10–20 and no MagSafe, it is the worst value zone in the catalogue.
- Folio or shell? Wallet folios start at €31.99 (DBRAMANTE1928 Copenhagen); shells max out far lower.
- Check the live stock figure: several reference models have single-digit availability.

FAQ
Is a €80 case three times better than a €27.99 one?
No. Above €40 you are mostly paying brand and Apple's own material upgrade. The functional jump happens between €10 and €22, where magnets become available.
Do all cases above €20 support MagSafe?
No. Only 17 % of the €20–30 band and 40.7 % above €40 do. Samsung's €20.99 silicone cases, for instance, do not.
Why is there almost nothing between €10 and €20?
Because suppliers price the entry tier at €5–10 and jump straight to the magnetic tier at €22+. In our catalogue that middle band is 5.3 % of all references.
Are prices VAT inclusive?
Yes, they are the published retail prices for deliveries inside the European Union.
